DESTINATION DETAILS

Laguna Beach was settled by Native Americans over 2,000 years ago because of its coastal lands and the nearby freshwater canyon. They called it Lagonas, meaning “lake”.

Today Laguna Beach is arguably best known for the MTV show of the same name, but this coastal destination is famous locally for its art galleries, shopping and breathtaking views. It is situated midway between Los Angeles and San Diego on the famed Pacific Coast Highway.

The Montage Laguna Beach has been recognized as one of the country’s finest luxury resorts in Travel & Leisure, Condé Nast Traveller and the Robb Report. It was also named “Best Resort Overall” from Cigar Aficionado in 2006.

The resort is positioned on a coastal bluff overlooking pristine beaches and the Pacific Ocean. Each of the 250 guest rooms on this 30-acre property faces the ocean. The resort balances the opulence of a world-class resort with the warmth of a craftsman-style inn. Each room is designed with dark woods, muted colors and local early California artwork, and every room has a balcony.

As the resort showpiece, Spa Montage features indoor and outdoor facilities that provide a peaceful sanctuary to escape from the everyday. The Spa menu is inspired from the natural surroundings: water therapies, seaweed mineral baths, muds and clays, as well as meditation and yoga retreats on the beach.

Weather: The average temperature of Laguna Beach in February is 67 degrees, but brings those sweaters! Evenings cool down to about 45 degrees.
